Something magical is happening mid-winter in Glasgow every year - the World's largest winter music trade event

Showcase Scotland, at Celtic Connections, is the largest gathering of the international music community in the Scottish calendar. A chance for promoters, record labels, agents and festival organisers to meet both the Scottish industry and each other. A chance to see, first hand, a vast array of performances from the cream of Scottish talent all of whom perform as part of the world’s largest Celtic music festival.  Six days, 12 venues, over 60 artists and bands, seminars, trade talks and networking with delegates from over 40 countries.

As part of the British Council NZ's ongoing work promoting Scottish culture in NZ, we are proud to announce that New Zealand is the country in focus for Showcase Scotland at Celtic Connections January 2015. Selected NZ bands include Tiny Ruins, Trinity Roots, Thomas Oliver, Louis Baker, Maisey Rika, and Waiora featuring Horomona Horo. Further to this line-up is also a folk club gig to celebrate the special sister city relationship between Dunedin and Edinburgh to take place at Glasgow Art club, and featuring 2014 Commonwealth Baton songwriting competition winner Jake Cropley.

Showcase Scotland's NZ focus at Celtic Connections runs from Jan 18-26 2015 in Glasgow - come one come all to experience some Kiwi flavour in the northern hemisphere's biggest winter music showcase!
